SUMMER INSTITUTESummer Institute is designed to teach the basics of financial aid administration and prepare participants to take NASFAA Credential exams in a variety of subjects. Summer Institute is generally for those professionals with five or fewer years of financial aid experience; however, even more advanced professionals will learn from the sessions! Participants will learn from seasoned MASFAA professionals on financial aid topics, with a few professional development sessions to supplement the practical knowledge. Previous topics have included the history of higher education, imposter syndrome, and a special presentation from the current MASFAA president. Opportunities to meet MASFAA colleagues and network with other financial aid administrators will also be a large part of the week. LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUMLeadership Symposium is designed to help cultivate future leaders in MASFAA, our state associations, and our campuses. Participants are typically professionals with five or more years of financial aid experience, or those who have demonstrated leadership potential. Previous topics have included, strategies for earning NASFAA Credentials and the FAAC designation, effective communication, managing anxiety in the workplace, and building the career you want. Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare to take NASFAA Credential exams in various subject areas. This small group setting allows for strong bonds to be built between financial aid administrators. |
